About I Street Art Studios
Sacramento's longest continually operating art studio venue. Connecting artists and the Midtown community for over 40 years.
I Street Art Studios is located at 1727 I Street in Midtown Sacramento. We are home to 19 resident artists working across 4 studios, with a large common gallery space open to the public. The space is quirky, welcoming, and alive with creative energy.
For more than 40 years, I Street Art Studios has welcomed guests every 2nd Saturday from 2–8 pm, year-round, with a new show every month. We are also open Sundays 1–4 pm following 2nd Saturdays, and at other times for special curated events and exhibitions.
Prominent Sacramento arts leaders, groups, and artists have called I Street Art their home. We are proud to be a place where emerging artists find their footing and established artists continue to grow.
In 2026, I Street Art Studios became an official artist cooperative; deepening our commitment to community, collaboration, and the arts in Sacramento.

The Mission of I Street Art Studios is to provide an attractive venue to create, display, and sell artworks to benefit emerging and established artists; to provide a support community for Sacramento area artists; and to contribute to the presence of the arts in the Sacramento area.

RECOGNITIONS
I Street Art Studios has been a fixture of Midtown Sacramento for over four decades. Founded as an artist studio space, it grew into one of the most beloved community art venues in the region. We are proud to be a place where creativity flourishes and the public is always welcome.
Over the years, I Street Art has served as a launching pad for countless Sacramento artists, a gathering space for the arts community, and a consistent presence on the 2nd Saturday Art Walk. Through changing neighborhoods and changing times, the studios have remained a constant: open, welcoming, and dedicated to the arts.
In 2026, the organization took a significant step forward by officially becoming an artist cooperative, ensuring that the studios remain artist-led and community-focused for years to come.
