I Street Art Studios hosts a new show every 2nd Saturday, year-round. Not every show is open to the public. Here's how participation works:

Resident Member Shows are curated by our 19 resident artists and may include invited guest artists of their choosing.
Open Shows are open to all Sacramento-area artists and are typically held in February and July each year. These shows are announced on our website, Facebook page, and at the studios. Registration is required to participate.
Affiliate Member Shows feature our affiliate members exclusively, typically in January each year.
Guest Artists: Resident members occasionally invite a well-known local artist to participate in their show. Guest artists listed individually in promotional materials contribute a $25 fee to the studio's general fund.

HOW TO SHOW AT ISAS

All artists participating in I Street Art open shows must follow these guidelines. Please read carefully before registering.

Artwork Requirements

Originality All work must be original. No AI-generated work or use of copyrighted images is permitted.
2D Works Must be ready to hang with wire — no sawtooth hangers. Canvases less than ½" deep and all paper works must be framed or gallery-ready. Any exceptionally heavy or large pieces must be pre-approved by the show chair.
3D Works Must be ready to display on a table or pedestal, or have prepared hanging elements.

Pricing & Sales

Work may be listed with a price or marked NFS (Not For Sale). I Street Art Studios charges no commission on sales. Artists handle their own sales or may designate someone to handle them. You may place a Venmo/Zelle QR code on the back of your work if you permit contactless sales.

Registration

All participants must register before the show deadline. Registration gives the show chair your contact information and ensures you receive drop-off details and label creation instructions approximately two weeks before the show. A registration fee of $10 per artwork is collected at drop-off. This fee is waived for resident and affiliate members.

Labels

Label information is submitted via a provided link. To keep labels readable, limit all entries to 35 characters or less. Write your name and artwork title on the back of your work so labels can be placed correctly. Labels may not be edited by the artist once placed. Show chairs may edit label information.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Drop-off is typically the Wednesday before the show. Accommodations can be made if the standard times don't work — contact us to arrange. You may have a friend submit work on your behalf. No work may be removed from the gallery until 5 minutes after the closing time of the show.

I Street Art Studios is now enrolling affiliate members. Affiliation connects you to Sacramento's most established art studio community and gives you regular opportunities to show, network, and grow as an artist.

Affiliate members sign a membership agreement. Members are not voting members unless elected as an At-Large Board Member.

Become an Affiliate Member

I Street Art Studios is available for guest artist shows, private art events, classes, and workshops. All guest events must be sponsored by a resident member and must align with the mission of I Street Art Studios.

What's Included

Full gallery space with pedestals for 3D work and nails/ladders for hanging
Kitchen items (cooler, pitcher, water jug) — bring your own reception supplies
Use of I Street Art signage
Studio promotion as an I Street Art Special Event on social media

Renter Responsibilities

Setup and cleanup (sweeping gallery, courtyard, and walkway; hanging the show; adjusting lights)
Removing nails, spackling, sanding, and painting after the show within one week
Removing all artwork within one week of show close
Promoting your own show and social media

Rental Rates

Rental fees and deposits are determined by the Board. Affiliate members receive a 50% discount on rental rates. One-day event insurance is available for a nominal cost and recommended for all renters. Alcohol may not be served at public events unless approved by the Board.

I Street Art Studios welcomes artists at all stages of their practice. As an affiliate member you'll gain guaranteed show participation, a portfolio listing on our website, access to studio classes, and a supportive community of fellow artists in the heart of Midtown Sacramento.

Membership is $10 to join plus $10 per month. Applications are reviewed by the Board and we'll be in touch within a few weeks of receiving yours.
